Terms of Use
Ride safely and follow local laws.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Moofie, you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s EULA, these Terms apply to the extent permitted.
2. Independent app
Moofie is not made, affiliated with, endorsed or supported by VanMoof B.V. “VanMoof” and related model names are used only to describe compatibility. Moofie relies on your bike, its firmware and VanMoof’s services, which we don’t control and which may change or become unavailable at any time.
3. Licence
After purchasing Moofie on the App Store, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app.
4. Your account and bike
- Only use Moofie with bikes you own or are authorised to use.
- You are responsible for keeping your VanMoof account and iPhone secure.
- Be thoughtful when sharing access to your bike or enabling repair mode.
5. Ride safely and follow the law
Always pay attention to the road. Don’t interact with your phone while riding in a way that is unsafe or illegal — use full-screen driving mode and a secure mount, and plan routes before you set off.
Certain settings, such as a 32 km/h speed profile on the S5 and A5, may not be permitted on public roads in your country. In the EU and many other regions, pedal-assisted e-bikes are limited to 25 km/h.
You are solely responsible for complying with all traffic laws, vehicle regulations and insurance requirements where you ride.
6. Warranty and bike settings
Changing bike settings through a third-party app may affect your bike’s warranty, insurance or type approval. Check with VanMoof and your insurer before changing settings you are unsure about. Navigation, arrival estimates and telemetry are provided for convenience and may be inaccurate.
7. Disclaimer
Moofie is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every bike, firmware version or iOS version.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for damage to your bike, injury, fines or losses arising from your use of Moofie or from changes to VanMoof’s bikes or services. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
9. Purchases and refunds
Moofie is a one-time purchase processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
10. Changes
We may update Moofie and these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
