General

Which bikes does Moofie support?

Moofie supports the VanMoof S5, A5, S6 and S6 Open.

What do I need to use Moofie?

An iPhone running a recent version of iOS, a supported VanMoof bike, and the VanMoof account that bike is registered to.

Is Moofie made by VanMoof?

No. Moofie is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by VanMoof B.V. For hardware issues, warranty claims or repairs, please contact VanMoof or an authorised service partner.

Can I use Moofie and the official VanMoof app together?

Yes, but your bike can usually only hold one Bluetooth connection at a time. If Moofie can’t connect, fully close the other app (or any other VanMoof app) and try again.

Can I add more than one bike?

Yes. All supported bikes on your account show up in the Garage. Tap the bike name at the top of the screen to switch.

Connection & unlocking

Moofie can’t find or connect to my bike
  1. Make sure Bluetooth is on and Moofie is allowed to use it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth.
  2. Stay within a few metres of your bike and wake it up by moving it or pressing a button.
  3. Close any other app that might be connected to the bike, including the official VanMoof app.
  4. Force-quit Moofie and open it again.
  5. Still stuck? Toggle Bluetooth off and on, or restart your iPhone.
The bike connects, but unlocking doesn’t work

Check that the bike has enough battery and that you’re signed in with the account the bike belongs to. If the bike was recently transferred or reset, sign out of Moofie and sign in again to refresh its details.

Does Moofie stay connected in the background?

Moofie can keep recording ride data while your phone is locked. iOS may pause background activity to save battery, so opening Moofie will always give you the most up-to-date status.

Features

Why can’t I change the top speed on my S6?

Switching between 25 km/h and 32 km/h is available on the S5 and A5. The S6 and S6 Open follow the speed limit the bike was shipped with for its region.

Is riding at 32 km/h legal?

It depends on where you ride. In the EU and many other regions, pedal-assisted e-bikes are limited to 25 km/h on public roads. Riding faster may be illegal, may require a different vehicle class, and may affect your insurance or warranty. You are responsible for following local laws.

How does navigation work?

Search for a destination from the Home screen and start a route. Moofie shows turn-by-turn directions with speed, arrival time, remaining time and distance. Switch to full-screen driving mode for a larger, glanceable view. Navigation requires location access.

Where are my rides stored?

Your rides are stored on your iPhone. If you delete Moofie, your ride history is deleted with it.

What are Sharing and Repair Mode?

Sharing lets you give family and friends access to your bike. Repair Mode gives a workshop temporary access for servicing, without handing over your account.

A feature is missing for my bike

Some features depend on the model and firmware version of your bike. Keeping your bike’s firmware up to date gives you the best experience. If you think something should be there, let us know.

Purchase & account

Is Moofie a subscription?

No. Moofie is a one-time purchase. There are no subscriptions or ads.

How do I request a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I got a new iPhone. Do I need to buy Moofie again?

No. Sign in with the same Apple ID and download Moofie again from the App Store at no extra cost.

How do I sign out or remove my data?

You can sign out from your profile in the Garage. Deleting the app removes all data Moofie stores on your iPhone. See our Privacy Policy for details.
